Common use

Avandia is an oral hypoglycemic agent belonging to the group of thiazolidinediones. It is a selective agonist of nuclear receptor PPARγ (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma). Avandia lowers blood glucose by increasing insulin sensitivity of fat and liver tissues, skeletal muscles and improves metabolic processes, reduces blood levels of glucose, insulin and free fatty acids.
